The Head of Saint Charles Borromeo Parish in Bridgeport since 2015, Gomez also serves as the Episcopal Master of Ceremonies/Secretary to the Bishop of Bridgeport.
When notifying parishioners earlier this week at St. Charles, Bishop Frank J. Caggiano said Gomez had not been accused of any immoral actions, but that he made poor choices, the Post reported.
His actions were brought to light by some members of the parish who raised concern about his actions with minors over the past six months, the Post said.
Gomez's removal comes at a time when the church is dealing with a scandal in Pennsylvania revealed just last week that uncovered the sexual abuse of more than 1,000 children by 300 priests.
The Post said the news of his removal comes just days after the bishop said in a letter to parishioners that he had been made sick to his stomach when learning of the Pennsylvania grand jury report.
A Diocese spokesman said there are no allegations that he abused children, but instead is accused of "boundary violations."
Gomez was born and raised in Puebla, Mexico, and was ordained a priest in 2009.
